Horse Starting Graduates
This week saw Lady - a 3 year old Stock horse x Quarter Horse finish up her training here at Outback Equines. Lady arrived as a quiet unstarted young horse, whose owner Emily specifically asked 'can you work on her pushiness'! Although Lady was quiet - she was particularly 'in your face' and needed to learn some personal space manners. I'm proud to see the finished product 6 weeks later, where Emily is now riding her out on trail rides at walk, trot and canter, plus attended a horsemanship and clicker training clinic with her where they both excelled. I'm excited to see the future that Lady and Emily will have together and will luckily get to see them regularly for lessons.
There are numerous more young horses and older horses coming to Hayley during the next 7-8 months so stay tuned to see their progress.
End of the first round of Video Challenges
This week and next week will see us finish up the first round of our very popular Online Training Challenges!! For the past 8 weeks, a number of participants have been involved with the Foundation Horsemanship Challenge, Starting out in Liberty Training Challenge, and a world first Beginning Horse Archery Challenge! Our Liberty and Horse Archery participants still have a couple of weeks to go before they have completed the series, but so far everyone is going strongly and successfully completing many of the tasks offered to them.
Our next round starts 7th April and bookings are open now!
What happens in a Challenge? You have access to Hayley - a qualified and reputable trainer each week whilst she guides you through training videos in your chosen challenge. Every fortnight you send in a video for assessment and Hayley gives you feedback so you can continue to improve on your journey - it's a virtual lesson! You'll receive bonus videos and resources throughout the Challenge, and upon completion you receive an Outback Equines Certificate of Attendance. For a limited time - if you buy ONE Challenge spot, you'll receive the second challenge spot at HALF PRICE!! So either commit to 2 different Challenges OR take up the Challenge with a friend!
NEW HORSE ARCHERY CLUB
As part of our ongoing commitment to help grow the sport of Horse Archery in Australia at grass roots levels, Hayley has encouraged her students and helped them to set up a local Horse Archery club based in the Lockyer Valley. This club is a Sub-Branch of the ever popular Flying Fletches Club in South Australia. The Flying Fletches QLD Branch already has a whopping 12 financial members with more and more joining each day! Monthly Club Shoots will be held for both ground and horse archery, as well as the club hosting their very first competition on May 20-21st.
The club will also be represented at the upcoming Gatton Heavy Horse Field Days 40th Anniversary event on April 29th & 30th. Club members and the team at Outback Equines will be holding a horse archery demonstration and display, plus a market stall at the event and everyone is super excited to show off their skills and promote the sport of Horse Archery in Australia.
